Youth and Women Agribusiness Empowerment Initiative (YWAEI)

Summary
The Youth and Women Agribusiness Empowerment Initiative (YWAEI) is a 24-month integrated development project designed to economically empower youth and women through climate-smart agribusiness, value addition, digital agriculture solutions, and market linkages. Implemented by Blessing Consulting Company (BCC), the initiative addresses unemployment, low productivity, climate vulnerability, and weak market access affecting smallholder farmers - particularly youth and women - in central and southern highland zones of Tanzania.
The project will directly benefit 1,200 youth and women (60% women) through capacity building, access to modern agricultural technologies, digital management systems, financial literacy, and structured market linkages. Indirectly, over 6,000 community members will benefit through improved household incomes, food security, and local economic growth.
YWAEI aligns with national priorities under Tanzania Development Vision 2050, Agricultural Sector Development Programme (ASDP II), Climate Change Strategy, and global development priorities including SDGs 1, 2, 5, 8, 12, and 13.
